Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer has helped to make Christmas reindeer some of the most popular animals of the holiday season. Kids love reading about Santa’s flying reindeer and watching animated TV specials featuring these amazing creatures. So they’re going to love this easy Christmas baking project. These reindeer cupcakes that kids can decorate are fun to create and easy enough that even young bakers can help.
To make these Christmas reindeer cupcakes, you’ll need your favorite chocolate cake mix, chocolate frosting (either ready-made or homemade), mini vanilla wafer cookies, chocolate chips or chocolate M & Ms, and mini twist pretzels.
Bake the cupcakes according to the directions on the box and allow them to cool completely. After the cupcakes are cool, put a layer of chocolate frosting on the cupcake and add a mini vanilla wafer cookie to the center of the cupcake to create the nose. Then use chocolate chips or chocolate M & Ms to create the eyes. Finally, break some mini pretzel twists in half and press the bottom half of one pretzel in each side of the cupcake to form the antlers. (Optional step: For a fun variation, make some red frosting and cover one of the vanilla wafer cookies with it to make “Rudolph.”
Then eat and enjoy!
