business christmas cardsAs the end of the year rolls around, we all naturally tend to think back and reflect on the events of the past 12 months and look forward to the coming year. If you’re a business owner, you may be thinking about the customers and partners that have been pivotal in your business and the prospects you’d like to win in the coming year. A great way to recognize all of them is to send out business Christmas cards.

Business Christmas cards are a great way to show your appreciation to customers, clients, suppliers and other business associates. You want them to know that they are important to you, so don’t simply rely on a card printed with your business name inside. Be sure to also add a personal signature to each one, and for very important clients, you may also want to add a short note. It doesn’t need to be fancy.

Phrases such as “I really enjoyed working with you this past year” or “I’m looking forward to continuing our business relationship in the new year,” are good phrases that can be used to create more personalized Christmas cards. Other phrases you might want to use are, “Thanks for your business this year” or (for prospects) “I hope we can do business in the coming year.”

For very important relationships, you may want to make the message even more personal. Think about the qualities that make the partnership a good one. Is this a supplier who is always on time? Or a repeat customer who is always easy to please? Does your business contact always answer email and voicemail quickly? You don’t need to write a novel about the recipient’s qualities, but it’s ok to add another sentence to your card with a note such as, “It’s great to have a business partner that is always so reliable.”

A few simple business Christmas wishes like these will keep your card on a professional note, but let the recipient know that they are important to you and your business. If you continue to recognize and thank your business associates with small gestures like this throughout the year, next year you may find yourself with a much longer list of business Christmas cards to send.
